Hypnotic, uplifting, and depressing all at once
A presentation about how our increasingly mobile digital connections are changing our experience of cities
Dramatic innovation in snowboard design. I would love to try one of these. (I am also resisting the urge to make a “cutting edge” pun - not very well, apparently)

Johnny Lee shared this on my Google Reader feed. It seemed worth sharing here, too.
It’s called “Why I’m Happy, Why I’m Not Satisfied” by ill Doctrine and the original can be found here.
Toward what end?
So after some perusing and some thinking, I have come to the conclusion that tumblr is really a place for sharing:sharing images, sharing pithy thoughts, sharing random conversations (both meaningful and otherwise), sharing interesting quotes… whatever.
My impressions may be biased in that most of the people I know on here are designers, and more specifically designers who push towards the art end of the scale and are prone to be sharing people to begin with.
But the format supports this and perhaps that is why they gravitate here.
So if I were to use this what would I share? Or how would I use the sharing metaphor to best fit my own ends (or perhaps even abandon that metaphor)?
The trouble is that I have none of “my own ends” at the moment. I came here simply to see what it does and to add it to my potential toolset should I ever decide what “my own ends” are.
I’ll give it some thought.
Enough playing
I’m intrigued. I’ll probably be back. For now, though, there are more pressing concerns, like breakfast.
Excellent and thought provoking articles on game design that often have much to offer to creative professionals in general.
So far so good
This Lindsey person does seem a bit pushy, but I can tell she’s only trying to help.
So this is tumblr...
I’m supposed to be working on my thesis. Exploring this site may not be the best idea I’ve had all day (then again it’s early, and there isn’t much competition for BIIHAD yet)
